Donations to YENİ Party come not only from citizens but also from MPs: I am contributing with one month's salary
Some members of parliament have announced that they are donating one month's salary to support the fundraising campaign launched for the YENİ Party.
Support for the fundraising campaign announced by Özgür Özel has also come from YENİ Party MPs. Some deputies stated, "I am donating one month of my parliamentary salary to our party's founding campaign."
Özel announced that the party has begun accepting donations. Sharing the donation page on his social media account, Özel said, "The nation founded the new party, the nation will grow it, and the nation will carry the new party to power." In the 24 hours following Özel's announcement, 31 thousand 934 people made donations. A total of 113 million 841 thousand 910 lira was raised through these donations.
Urfa MP Mahmut Tanal, in a statement on social media, said, "I am donating one month of my parliamentary salary to our YENİ Party's founding campaign. Because we believe that solidarity keeps us alive, sacrifice makes us grow, and unity brings change. I invite everyone to support our YENİ Party's founding campaign according to their means. The nation founded the YENİ Party, and it is the nation that will grow it. Solidarity keeps us alive," he stated.
Ankara MP Umut Akdoğan also said, "On the first day of our YENİ Party's fundraising campaign, 32 thousand of our citizens donated 114,000,000 TL. As the Ankara MP, I am also contributing to our fundraising campaign with one month's salary."
Mersin MP Ali Mahir Başarır shared, "The true victory in the march to power of the YENİ Party, which we founded with great social energy and support, will be the work of the solidarity shown. With pride and honor, I am also donating one month of my parliamentary salary. We will succeed together," he stated.
Utku Çakırözer, Gamze Taşçıer, Gökan Zeybek, and Sibel Suiçmez were other names who donated one month of their parliamentary salaries.
