Downpour in Istanbul brings traffic to a standstill
Traffic congestion occurred in Istanbul on the first day of the week, exacerbated by the rain that intensified during the morning hours.
Traffic density across Istanbul was measured at 82 percent during the morning hours. While heavy traffic was observed on the European Side, particularly in the direction of the bridges, traffic flow on main arteries and connecting roads slowed down frequently. It was noted that traffic came to a standstill in some areas.
Traffic density on the Anatolian Side reached 90 percent as of 08:00, while it was measured at 76 percent on the European Side.
