Dressed as Atatürk at ADD event, greeted tables
Footage from the "100th Anniversary Ball" held by the Milas branch of the Association for Supporting Contemporary Life (ADD) on the night of October 26 has sparked significant backlash. In the event, a person imitating Atatürk is seen greeting tables while wearing a marshal's uniform. An explanation regarding the footage has come from ADD Secretary General Ayhan Yalçınkaya.
The issue of resemblance and the exploitation of it, which has recently become a subject of debate due to individuals using their likeness to Atatürk to collect money from followers in their broadcasts, has moved to a different dimension with the latest footage that has emerged.

Footage of a person dressed in a Marshal Atatürk uniform greeting tables at a night organized by the ADD Milas Branch as part of the Republic's 100th Anniversary events has become a subject of controversy.

REACTION FROM DEMİRTAŞ
Expressing his reaction on social media, economist Özgür Demirtaş said, "I hope the authorities will intervene against people who collect money because they look like Atatürk. These people are insulting the memory of Atatürk."

EXPLANATION FROM ADD
Journalist Şaban Sevinç also reported in a post on his social media account that ADD Secretary General Ayhan Yalçınkaya stated that this incident at the Milas Branch was outside their knowledge, that they found it very wrong, and that they were saddened by it.

Sevinç also stated that they would conduct the necessary investigation and that similar incidents would not happen again.
