Drift dispute in Ankara ends in bloodshed: 4 suspects arrested for stone attack on police officer
A police officer was injured in a stone attack during an argument with a driver performing drifts and his companions in Keçiören. Four out of seven suspects have been arrested.
In the Keçiören district of Ankara, an argument between a police officer and a driver performing drifts, along with his companions, escalated into a stone attack. While the injured police officer was taken to the hospital, 4 out of 7 suspects detained as part of the investigation were arrested.
The incident occurred on September 28 in the Hisar neighborhood of Keçiören. According to reports, an argument broke out between police officer I.U. and the driver, who was allegedly performing drifts, and the individuals accompanying him. As the argument intensified, I.U. was attacked with stones.
The injured police officer was taken to the hospital by teams arriving at the scene. It was learned that I.U. was discharged following his treatment.
As part of the investigation, 7 suspects identified as being involved in the attack were taken into custody. After their procedures at the police station, the suspects were referred to the courthouse, where 4 of them were arrested and sent to prison.
It was stated that during the incident, police officer I.U. fired 4 shots into the air with his service weapon in order to protect himself. It was also reported that the stone believed to have been used in the attack was taken into custody by the teams.
