Drivers take note: These roads in Istanbul are closed to traffic today

Some roads in Istanbul have been closed to traffic today due to rehearsals taking place on Vatan Avenue as part of the "L'etape By Tour de France International Cycling Race" and the "101st Anniversary Celebrations of the October 29 Republic Day."

The Istanbul Governor's Office listed the roads that will be closed to traffic from 06:00 to 14:00 due to the cycling race as follows:

"Küçüksu Avenue, Cuma Yolu Avenue, Körfez Avenue, Mehmet Ali Birand Avenue, Okul Avenue, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Avenue, Orhan Veli Kanık Avenue, Nazım Street, Hekimbaşı Çiftlik Avenue, Göksu Avenue, Atatürk Avenue, Cumhuriyet Avenue, Çengeldere Avenue, Polonezköy Road, Seyri Avenue, Ayazma Avenue, Trabzon Avenue, Seniye İsmail Hanım Avenue, Meraşal Mustafa Kemal Avenue, Meftun Avenue, Şehit Levent Birgen Avenue, Şehit Mehmet Ali Şener Avenue, Riva Avenue, Paşabahçe Polonezköy Road, New Riva Road, Kavacık Junction, Mihrişah Valide Sultan Avenue."

Citizens were advised to use the Kandilli Pier Avenue towards the Observatory, Dereboyu Avenue towards Yavuztürk Avenue, Çubuklu Şehit Ersin Güner Avenue towards Dedeoğlu Avenue, Dr. Ömer Besim Avenue, Nişangah Avenue, and Göksu Otağtepe Avenue as alternatives.

The roads that will be closed for the race from 08:00 until the end of the program are the TEM Highway South Maslak exit, TEM South Maslak side road, TEM South Etiler entrance, and TEM North Kavacık exits.

In contrast, traffic coming from the TEM Highway South will be directed from the Maslak side road towards the TEM North and Büyükdere Avenue directions. Traffic coming to the South Etiler entrance will be directed through Etiler to Büyükdere Avenue, and traffic coming to the TEM North Kavacık exits will be directed towards the bridge direction via the TEM North transit.

ALL ROADS LEADING TO VATAN AVENUE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC

According to the statement made by the Istanbul Governor's Office, the closed roads and alternative routes are as follows: As part of the 101st Anniversary Celebrations of the October 29 Republic Day, Fatih District Vatan Avenue and all roads leading to this avenue have been closed to traffic from 06:00 until the end of the program at appropriate points.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

Turgut Özal Boulevard (Millet Avenue) and Fevzipaşa Avenue can be used as alternatives.
