Drug operation carried out in three provinces: 11.9 million synthetic pills seized

In drug operations conducted in İzmir, Istanbul, and Diyarbakır, 6 synthetic pill manufacturing facilities and over 11 million 904 thousand pills were seized. 48 people were arrested in the operation, in which 79 suspects were processed.

The İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that 6 synthetic pill manufacturing facilities and 11 million 904 thousand 456 synthetic pharmaceutical pills were seized in simultaneous operations conducted in İzmir, Istanbul, and Diyarbakır, and that 48 suspects were arrested. 

Following approximately 8 months of technical and physical surveillance by teams from the İzmir Provincial Police Department's Anti-Narcotics Branch, an operation was launched against a criminal organization identified as being involved in the organized trade, manufacture, shipment, and storage of narcotics.

''STATEMENT FROM THE CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE''

The statement made by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office included the following:

"Within the scope of the work carried out by the officers of the İzmir Provincial Police Department's Anti-Narcotics Branch under the coordination of the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office; approximately 8 months of technical and physical surveillance were conducted against a criminal organization identified as being involved in the organized trade, manufacture, shipment, and storage of narcotics throughout the province.

As a result of the simultaneous operations organized during the investigation process; 6 synthetic pill manufacturing facilities, 11 million 904 thousand 456 synthetic pharmaceutical pills, 1 million 521 thousand 589 grams of raw material, 7 million 155 thousand empty capsules used in the production of synthetic pharmaceuticals, 6 machines used for filling synthetic pharmaceuticals, and 2 precision scales were seized.

Within the scope of the work carried out; a total of 79 suspects were processed for the crime of 'Manufacturing and Trafficking of Narcotic or Stimulant Substances', and 48 of the suspects were arrested.

 Within the scope of the file; simultaneous operations were conducted in İzmir, Istanbul, and Diyarbakır against 22 suspects identified as operating within the criminal organization, including the leader of the organization; as a result of the operation, 17 suspects were taken into custody.

Efforts to apprehend the fugitives are being meticulously continued."
