Drug operation in 42 provinces: 227 people apprehended

Drug operation in 42 provinces: 227 people apprehended

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced the results of the large-scale "NARKOÇELİK-37" operations carried out across Turkey.

In the operations conducted simultaneously in 42 provinces, a total of 479 kilograms of narcotics and 160 thousand 967 drug pills were seized. Within the scope of the operation, 227 drug dealers and street-level sellers were apprehended.

These large-scale operations, coordinated by the General Directorate of Security's Department of Anti-Narcotic Crimes, involved 567 teams, 1 thousand 418 personnel, 12 aircraft, and 37 narcotic detector dogs.

Significant amounts of narcotics were seized and numerous drug dealers were taken into custody during the operations conducted in major cities such as Diyarbakır, Bursa, Şanlıurfa, Antalya, İzmir, and Istanbul.
