Drug operation in Diyarbakır: 285 kilograms of cannabis seized
In the Eren Peace Spring-Summer Martyr Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Özkan Bilgiç Operation conducted by the gendarmerie in the Lice district of Diyarbakır, 285 kilograms of cannabis and 60 thousand 595 cannabis plants were seized.
In a statement made by the Governor's Office, it was reported that the Eren Peace Spring-Summer Martyr Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Özkan Bilgiç Operation was carried out in the rural areas of Kayacık and Uçarlı neighborhoods in Lice district by the Diyarbakır Provincial Gendarmerie Command with the aim of revealing the link between the separatist terrorist organization and those involved in illegal drug production and trafficking with concrete evidence.
In the operation in question, a total of 285 kilograms of cannabis, consisting of 127 kilograms of powdered cannabis and 158 kilograms of herbal cannabis, and a total of 60 thousand 596 cannabis plants, consisting of 60 thousand hemp plants and 596 skunk plants, were seized.
The statement reported that the narcotic substances were taken into custody and the hemp and skunk plants were destroyed on-site after taking 1 root sample from each.
