In the Hemsin district of Rize 4.7 magnitude earthquake occurred. It was stated that the earthquake, which took place at 12:02, had a depth of 12.85 kilometers. Following the earthquake, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made a statement on the X platform. Minister Yerlikaya used the following expressions in his statement:
Regarding the 4.7-magnitude earthquake that occurred in Hemsin, Rize, all teams from AFAD and our relevant institutions have immediately begun field surveys. The earthquake was also felt in the surrounding provinces of Artvin, Bayburt, Erzurum, and Trabzon.
According to initial assessments, there are no negative reports. Two health-related calls were received due to panic.
I extend my best wishes to our citizens affected by the earthquake.
