According to the data shared by AFAD, the earthquake was recorded on June 16, 2026, at 23:41.
It was stated that the epicenter of the tremor was the Sea of Marmara and that the earthquake occurred 4.54 kilometers from the Marmara district of Balıkesir.
The earthquake was reported to have occurred at 40.60056 north latitude and 27.48972 east longitude, at a depth of 13.39 kilometers below the surface.
