According to the report by Tele1, Lieutenant Ebru Eroğlu, the top graduate among the newly commissioned lieutenants referred to disciplinary action, held a meeting with her relatives before submitting her defense.

During the meeting, Eroğlu told her relatives, 'Whatever the outcome, they will not be able to take the Military Academy badge from our chests or yours.'

In her meeting, the newly graduated Lieutenant Eroğlu gave the following messages:

'Whatever the outcome today, they will not be able to take the Military Academy badge from our chests or yours. We became Atatürk's classmates first, then his comrades-in-arms. We will undoubtedly continue to act in this manner for the rest of our lives.'

Veteran journalist Müyesser Yıldız also shared a post about the incident on her X account. In her post, Yıldız provided information that Eroğlu concluded her defense by saying, 'You can take the rank on my shoulder, but you cannot take the Military Academy badge on my chest.'

The Land Forces Command High Disciplinary Board meeting, where the dismissal of the lieutenants was discussed, lasted 6 hours.
