Ebubekir Sofuoğlu's shocking remarks on İkbal Uzuner: 'If she had been raised with Islamic values...'

Ebubekir Sofuoğlu, who previously referred to universities as "brothels," has once again made shocking remarks.

Regarding İkbal Uzuner, one of the two young women brutally murdered by 19-year-old Semih Çelik, Sofuoğlu stated, "If this young girl had been raised with Islamic sensitivity, she would never have even met this murderer, who was a 'namahrem' (not a permissible partner) to her, and she would be alive right now."

Sofuoğlu argued that the system must change, asking, "If children in schools had been raised with Islamic sensitivities, would we still be facing the same result?"

While Turkey is discussing the brutality of 19-year-old Semih Çelik, who cruelly murdered İkbal Uzuner and Ayşenur Halil in succession before taking his own life, Ebubekir Sofuoğlu's social media post has drawn backlash.

Sofuoğlu's comment on the brutal murder of the two young girls was as follows:

'IF SHE HAD BEEN RAISED WITH ISLAMIC SENSITIVITY, SHE WOULD BE ALIVE RIGHT NOW'

“Should the harshest penalties be given to murderers? Of course they should, it is already overdue. But this is not the real solution; it is just killing the mosquito. The essential thing is to drain the swamp. For that, one must live in accordance with God's pleasure. If this young girl had been raised with Islamic sensitivity, she would never have even met this murderer, who was a 'namahrem' to her, and she would be alive right now. As long as Islamic sensitivities continue to be violated, of course I do not want it, but unfortunately, we will continue to encounter these painful incidents.”

'THE DEVIL'S LAWS CANNOT PROTECT THE INNOCENT'

“As you can see, the devil's laws you imported from the West cannot protect the innocent, and even though Islamic laws are not in force in any way, a pack of stray dogs is still blaming Islam. What is it, they say; there is pressure, young people are trying to escape from pressure, and with these ridiculous claims that have no real basis, they are trying to hide the murders caused by those Western devil laws that are the real cause of the slaughter of children.”

'WE NEED TO DRAIN THE SYSTEM'

Following the backlash, Sofuoğlu made a new post. In his post, Sofuoğlu used the following expressions:

“A brutal murder! I share the family's pain. As I said in the attached tweet, those who want to divert the target have immediately swarmed here, claiming I am blaming the young girl. First of all, get this into your thick skulls; big or small, no one can ever, under any circumstances, take someone else's life, regardless of the nature of the crime. The murderer and victim incident is very painful, but this is the mosquito. Of course, there will be a fight against the mosquito, but we need to drain the system. This structure, unfortunately, produces murderers and throws these innocent young girls in front of them as victims. To get rid of such murders, while pursuing the murders, it is necessary to change this structure simultaneously. Read the post of the person who claims to be a relative of the girl.”

'IF CHILDREN IN SCHOOLS HAD BEEN RAISED WITH ISLAMIC SENSITIVITIES...'

“If the state had taught children in schools the life of our Prophet (PBUH) and the basic morality and spirituality that a person should possess with all their subtleties, with Islamic sensitivities, would it not have been different at all? If children in schools had been raised with Islamic sensitivities, would we still be facing the same result? God forbid, let alone murder and violence, if it had been emphasized during school years not to set one's eyes on another's honor, not to even look with a side glance at another's spouse, daughter, or mother, wouldn't the result have changed? Wouldn't these perverted murderers have decreased? How many murderers have we seen like this? Haven't we seen murderers before who killed their principals, their teachers, their schoolmates?

At which murder will we come to our senses? You probably don't even know how many hours of ethics classes are given in 12 years of secondary education. On the other hand, the murderer and the victim are in the same class. God forbid, what kind of murderer-victim incident will we face in the same class, in the same school from now on? What justifiable reason could there be for opposing religious and ethics classes planned to raise the level of morality of children in schools? If religious and ethics classes had been given to children in their entirety, would there have been no change in the result?
