Economic summit at Beştepe: Mehmet Şimşek also attended
At the Economic Coordination Council meeting held at Beştepe, steps taken in line with the goals of sustainable growth and reducing inflation, as well as the needs of the industrial sector during its transformation process, were discussed.
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz chaired the Economic Coordination Council (EKK) meeting at Beştepe, where the progress of the economic program and the evaluation of various structural reforms were discussed.
In a written statement issued after the meeting, it was stated that the economic program launched last year is being maintained with effective coordination between monetary and fiscal policies, and that structural reforms are being implemented within a specific timeline.
AGENDA: INFLATION
The main objectives of the program were highlighted as sustainable growth, reducing inflation to single digits, and increasing exports through productivity-based production.
The statement noted that steps are being taken to ensure a value-added production structure that will increase competitiveness, and that active industrial policies are being implemented with a sectoral prioritization approach aimed at ensuring technological renewal and transformation in industry. At the same time, it was emphasized that efforts to facilitate the real sector's access to finance are being carried out in cooperation with relevant parties. In this context, it was noted that updated programs such as YTAK and HIT-30 have been put into effect.
The meeting addressed the sectoral effects of the disinflation process and efforts to increase competitiveness in order to protect employment. Proposed solutions to the challenges faced by the industrial sector were discussed, and assessments were made regarding the sector's access to the long-term investment loans it requires. Access to international credit-quality external financing sources and developments in the utilization of these loans were also on the agenda.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, AKP Parliamentary Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, AKP Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş, Head of the Presidency of Strategy and Budget İbrahim Şenel, BRSA Chairman Şahap Kavcıoğlu, Banks Association of Turkey Chairman Alpaslan Çakar, SSI President Raci Kaya, as well as several deputy ministers and representatives of relevant institutions.
