Economist Şeref Oğuz explains money-laundering influencers!

Following the money-laundering case involving the Dilan-Engin Polat couple, it is reported that MASAK has begun examining the financial accounts of internet influencers. Ekonomim columnist Şeref Oğuz stated that inflation has caused moral erosion in society and claimed that informal business ventures have approached nearly half of the economy in recent years. Oğuz wrote that a significant portion of this traffic is being conducted through internet influencers.

A portion of Şeref Oğuz's article titled "Influencer pandemic" is as follows:

MASAK is investigating, inquiries are ongoing, and the tax implications of the luxurious lives displayed on social media are being scrutinized. High expenditures, so-called cosmetic sales, trade in houses, apartments, and yachts, and subsequently, hundreds of millions of liras or foreign currency introduced into the system... In fact, Turkey has long produced environments where money is laundered, especially during periods of high inflation. A similar situation is at play now, and who knows how many more social media influencers will be caught by the system due to tax audits.
