Education suspended for 2 days in Kahramanmaraş
Following an attack on a school in Kahramanmaraş, education has been suspended for 2 days across the province.
In a statement issued by the Kahramanmaraş Governor's Office, it was stated:
"Due to the heinous attack that occurred at Ayser Çalık Secondary School, education and training have been suspended for 2 days on April 16-17, 2026, in all public and private educational institutions across Kahramanmaraş (including courses affiliated with Public Education Centers, special education and rehabilitation centers, e-exam centers, nurseries, and day care centers).
Furthermore, it has been decided that among personnel working in public institutions and organizations, one of the parents who has a child attending kindergarten or nursery, and one of the personnel who has a child with a disability, shall be considered on administrative leave on the specified dates."
