Eid al-Adha holiday extended to 9 days: Here are the details
It was announced by AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan following the Cabinet Meeting that the Eid al-Adha holiday will be 9 days long.
One of the topics discussed in the Presidential Cabinet was the Eid al-Adha, which will begin on Wednesday, May 27.
Following the decision taken by the Cabinet, the 2 days before the holiday were also declared public holidays.
With this decision, the holiday period has been extended to 9 days, covering the period between May 23 and June 1.
Making a statement after the Cabinet meeting, President Erdoğan said, "This year, we will observe Eid al-Adha from May 27 to 30. By including 1.5 days before the holiday as administrative leave, we are providing a 9-day holiday."
This year, Eid al-Adha will begin on Wednesday, May 27, and end on Saturday, May 30. The eve of the holiday is Tuesday, May 26.
