Ekrem İmamoğlu sends a message of 'courage' through his lawyer: Lawyers' Day celebration

Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is being held at Silivri Marmara Prison, shared a message on the occasion of April 5 Lawyers' Day through his lawyer, Mehmet Pehlivan. 

Pehlivan explained his meeting with İmamoğlu with the following words:

"My client Ekrem İmamoğlu, whom I visited in prison today, said something very meaningful while we were talking about a legal matter: 'Do not show my victimization, show my courage.'

In this difficult process, I once again witnessed his brave and determined stance and drew strength from it.

Lawyers are the brave voices of the struggle for justice who, in such times, bear witness not to victimization but to courage, and who stand tall against lawlessness.

Because defense is about being the voice of courage, not victimization; of resistance, not despair.
