Ela Rümeysa Cebeci arrested
Broadcaster Ela Rümeysa Cebeci, who tested positive for drugs at the Council of Forensic Medicine and arrived at the Istanbul Courthouse to provide a statement, has been arrested.
A new development has occurred in the drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Following her detention, the Habertürk Editor-in-Chiefwho was removed from her duties, and subsequently completely dismissed, facing allegations of 'facilitating drug use' and 'providing benefits in exchange for sexual intercourse' with chargesIn addition to Mehmet Akif Ersoy, who was arrested in recent days,the results of the drug testsconducted onEla Rümeysa Cebecialsocame outpositive.
While Ela Rümeysa Cebeci's blood sample came back negative, her hair sample tested positive for cannabis, synthetic drugs, and cocaine metabolites.
ARRESTED
As part of the investigation, Ela Rümeysa Cebeci arrived today at the Istanbul Courthouse to provide a statement.
Following her statement, Cebeci was referred to court based on additional evidence regarding the charge of 'facilitating the use of narcotic substances'and was subsequentlyarrested by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued the following statement regarding the arrest.
