Elderly couple murdered because their dog barked: Neighbor opened fire with a shotgun

In the Kısas neighborhood of Şanlıurfa's Haliliye district, a dispute broke out between two neighbors because the dog kept by Hüseyin Ö. and his wife was barking. The argument escalated into an armed fight as other family members joined in. The parties opened fire on each other.

Medical teams arriving at the scene determined that Hüseyin Ö. and his wife Dursun Ö. had lost their lives. The injured, Emine Ö. and Yusuf Ö., were taken to Şanlıurfa Training and Research Hospital by 112 Emergency Health teams. It was learned that the injured remain in critical condition.

COUPLE'S SON AND DAUGHTER-IN-LAW IN CRITICAL CONDITION

According to the information obtained, the incident began when C.Ö. went to the house of his relative, Hüseyin Ö., with whom he had a previous feud. C.Ö. opened fire with a pump-action shotgun he had with him at Hüseyin Ö., his wife Dursun Ö., their son Yusuf Ö., and their daughter-in-law İsmet Ö.

Those in the vicinity who heard the gunshots reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Medical teams arriving at the scene determined that Hüseyin and Dursun Ö. had lost their lives. While the injured were taken to the hospital, gendarmerie teams detained the suspect, C.Ö., in connection with the incident.

The bodies of the deceased, Hüseyin and Dursun Ö., were transported to the Şanlıurfa Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy procedures. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
