In an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, German citizens K.P. and M.B. alleged that transactions were carried out to launder large sums of money of unknown origin through companies established both domestically and abroad.
Within the scope of the investigation, detention orders were also issued for Emir Sarıgül, Ömer Sarıgül, Aylin Kotil, Volkan Aslanbaş, Cavidan Tanrah Artuner, and journalist Murat Ağırel.
Sarıgül, who surrendered to the Financial Crimes Investigation Bureau teams along with his lawyer as part of the investigation, has completed his statement procedures at the police station.
After undergoing a medical check-up, Sarıgül was transferred to the Istanbul Courthouse.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office referred Emir Sarıgül to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for his arrest.
It has been reported that Sarıgül has been arrested.
