Ender Saraç acquitted
Dr. Ender Saraç, a nutrition and diet expert well-known in Turkey, has been acquitted in the trial where he faced up to 22.5 years in prison on allegations of sexually abusing his 13-year-old son. The court ruled that it was established that Dr. Saraç did not commit the crime he was charged with.
The trial of nutrition and diet expert Dr. Ender Saraç, who faced up to 22.5 years in prison for the crime of 'child sexual abuse' based on allegations that he sexually abused his 13-year-old son, M.S., continued at the Istanbul 34th High Criminal Court.
Ender Saraç and his lawyer attended the hearing. A lawyer representing the Ministry of Family and Social Services was also present.
"MY CLIENT AND THE CHILD ARE THE GREATEST VICTIMS"
In her defense against the prosecutor's opinion, Ender Saraç's lawyer, Altın Mimir, stated that they agreed with the opinion, saying, "The greatest victims of this trial are my client and the child they share. The child was used to create evidence immediately after my client filed for divorce. My client has suffered greatly both financially and morally. It is established that he did not commit the crime, and I request that he be acquitted and cleared of this slander."
"I WAS A VICTIM OF A CONSPIRACY"
In his final statement to the court, Dr. Ender Saraç said, "I request my acquittal. I never, ever committed this crime. I was the victim of a conspiracy. I request my acquittal from your court."
"ESTABLISHED THAT HE DID NOT COMMIT THE CRIME"
Announcing its verdict, the court stated that it was understood that it was established that Ender Saraç did not commit the crime he was charged with, and ruled for his acquittal.
