Energy Ministry has not cancelled the licenses!
CHP's Yavuzyılmaz announced that the 6 licenses granted by the Ministry of Energy to the gold mine in İliç, Erzincan, where the mining disaster occurred, have not been cancelled.
The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change had cancelled the environmental permit and license certificate of the mine where the landslide occurred in İliç, Erzincan.
Deniz Yavuzyılmaz, Deputy Chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP) responsible for the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, announced in a post on his social media account that the 6 licenses granted by the Ministry of Energy to the gold mine in question have not been cancelled.
Yavuzyılmaz's post is as follows:
“An AK Party classic. After the disaster at the gold mine operated by Anagold in İliç, Erzincan; it was announced that the facility's environmental permit and license had been cancelled. However, we have determined that the 6 licenses granted by the Ministry of Energy have not been cancelled. Source: Official technical report belonging to SSR Mining, which is an 80% partner of Anagold”
