English message mistranslated in IMM indictment
It has emerged that an English message sent by Hüseyin Gün, who is named in the "espionage" charges brought against Ekrem İmamoğlu in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) indictment, to Necati Özkan was mistranslated in the investigation report.
It has been understood that there was an error in the translation of an English message sent by Hüseyin Gün, a central figure in the "espionage" charges brought against Ekrem İmamoğlu, to Necati Özkan in the IMM indictment.
According to a report by Gülnür Saydam from Sözcü, the message in question was reflected in the investigation report only as "See your W.," and this phrase was translated as "Look at W." and associated with secret messaging applications similar to Wickr based on the letter.
However, the message actually consists of two separate sentences: "Just came across an interesting feed. See your W." It is stated that the first sentence was completely omitted from the report, and that Gün's words did not refer to secret communication, but rather carried a meaning of success and good performance, implying "I just saw an interesting feed. I see your work, your success."
