Alaattin Meydanoğlu, one of the executives of the Ensar Foundation—which is remembered for the sexual abuse scandal involving numerous children aged 9-10—has been appointed as the Disaster Affairs Manager. According to a report in Sözcü, Meydanoğlu, who was removed from his position as the Culture and Social Affairs Manager of the AKP-run Elazığ Municipality, has now been brought into the seat of the Disaster Affairs Directorate.
It was learned that Meydanoğlu, who was appointed upon the instruction of Mayor Şahin Şerifoğulları, is a graduate of the Fırat University Faculty of Theology.
The appointment of this individual to the Disaster Affairs Directorate, which was established in many municipalities following the February 6, 2023, Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes to serve as a first-response team, has drawn attention.
It was also learned that Meydanoğlu is a graduate of the School of Physical Education and Sports at the same university.
