Erdoğan's advisor Uçum 'analyzes' the İmamoğlu protests: Pikachu and the gas-masked whirling dervish are based on a script!

Mehmet Uçum, chief advisor to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has 'analyzed' the protests that began following the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. Erdoğan's advisor Uçum 'analyzes' the İmamoğlu protests: Pikachu and the gas-masked whirling dervish are based on a script!

Following the arrest of İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu on corruption charges, striking images were recorded during the protests that began across the country. Chief among these were a gas-masked whirling dervish and the Pikachu character from the Pokémon animated series.

A comment on the street protests has come from the Palace.

Mehmet Uçum, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Legal Policies Board, shared an article on his X account titled "New generation street protests are an imperialist project."

Mehmet Uçum stated the following:

"THE GAS-MASKED WHIRLING DERVISH AND THE PIKACHU CHARACTER ARE BASED ON A SCRIPT"

"After the terror and corruption investigations in Istanbul, new generation street protests have once again become a topic of discussion. Although these are seen as the exercise of the right to democratic protest, the reality is not so. At the end of the twentieth century, civil disobedience and street protests were loaded with a different meaning and mission. The rights-seeking dimension of the concept of civil disobedience was destroyed, and the disobedience part was transformed into a fundamental tool for rebellion against national states.

Western ideological centers have handbooks prepared and translated for street movements and distribute them to the citizens of the target country. The youth of the target country are chosen as the main actors. Street protests are made to look attractive to the youth. Doing action for the sake of action becomes the goal. The feeling that 'the action is important,' rather than the goal and result of the action, is strengthened. Symbols are used to increase the appeal of taking action. For example, the gas-masked whirling dervish figure, the Pikachu character, a marriage proposal in front of the police, a Spider-Man costume, a woman in a red dress, and an action piano have been used for symbolism from the past to the present. These are entirely professional works and are based on a script.

"THEY USE THE YOUTH OF THE TARGET COUNTRY AS MASS POWER"

It is instilled in young people that taking part in actions is the most meaningful existence. Young people become the subjects of the actions but the objects of the action strategies. Thus, the youth of the target country are used as mass power in projects to weaken national states. However, imperialism's effort to turn youth into a mass that is easily shaped and manipulated by destroying their sense of belonging and identity does not always succeed.

Some of the activist youth show a tendency toward new generation actions due to the influence of their transitional age, and some because they find certain demands, which are brought to the fore for the sake of legitimacy in appearance, reasonable. However, when questioning comes into play, the majority of young people can take a stance against imperialist operations. As their rights to social and political participation are strengthened, young people recover more easily from the influence of imperialist projects. The fact that 18 is sufficient for the right to vote and be elected in our country empowers our youth and gives them self-confidence. As democratic participation develops and historical consciousness comes into play, our youth's bond of patriotism and sense of belonging to the country strengthen. For this reason, the vast majority of our country's youth do not and will not fall into imperialist traps.

"ONE MUST SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CIVIL ACTION AND IMPERIALIST PROJECT ACTIONS"

In summary, 'civil disobedience' became one of the ideological tools of imperialism after the Cold War. It was reproduced in the form of 'nihilistic civil disobedience,' which has destructive consequences, and was used for imperialist expansion. The 'color revolutions' and 'Arab springs' of the post-Cold War era were encouraged and provoked for this purpose. The Gezi protests, which were carried out in Turkey with an imperialist plan, are also a typical example of destructive civil disobedience. Gezi-like actions were also marketed in other countries, primarily Brazil. Nihilistic civil disobedience actions are aimed at chaos.

With these actions, a change of government that will serve imperialism is aimed at by creating an environment of distrust and administrative weakness. In this respect, the Ukraine example is a cautionary tale. These actions are considered crimes in terms of positive criminal law. The criminal nature of these actions does not disappear according to changing conditions. Furthermore, these are destructive actions against the targeted country and society, and this destruction leaves permanent marks on the nation's historical consciousness. It creates traumas in society and individuals, and even if a lot of time passes, it is not forgiven or tolerated. Such actions can never be under the protection of the law. Civil actions for rights and justice carried out within the law, on the other hand, serve to improve the legitimate order. They strengthen democracy and social justice; these are actions that are a requirement of a democratic society, and therefore they are under the protection of the law. One must see the qualitative difference between civil actions for rights and justice and civil disobedience actions, which are imperialist projects today. Those who do not see this or deny it become very useful apparatuses and actors of imperialism's ideological devices and projects."
