Erdoğan announced: Details of tax-free mobile phones and computers have been revealed
Making statements after the Cabinet Meeting, President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the details of the tax-free mobile phone and computer support to be provided to university students. On the other hand, Erdoğan also stated that they would offer interest-free loan opportunities to newly married couples.
The cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has concluded.
“WE HAD A BUSY AGENDA IN THE FOREIGN POLICY ARENA”
Making a statement after the meeting, where domestic and international developments were discussed, President Erdoğan said the following:
“We are fighting to bring our country to the place it deserves in the world. We had a particularly busy agenda in the foreign policy arena. We received the Algerian Foreign Minister and the delegation of the United States Council of Muslim Organizations. We shared with the public the medium-term program that will be our roadmap for the economy for the next three years.
We saw that the program, which we prepared with a participatory approach, was welcomed by the business world. The reaction of international investors to the program was also extremely positive. The World Bank Group's addition of an 18 billion dollar new investment package was a sign of this. As prejudices against our country are broken, I hope we will see investment figures rise even further.
HE CALLED FOR SUPPORT FOR THE MTP
At the end of 3 years, we will reach an economic size exceeding 1.3 trillion dollars and a per capita national income approaching 15 thousand dollars. I wish the program, which is full of goals reflecting Turkey's potential, to be beneficial to our country once again. We will soon present the 12th Development Plan and the government program to the appreciation of our nation and our business world.”
Although we have declared the Century of Türkiye, this vision is the national goal, aspiration, and ideal of all 85 million people. Growing and strengthening Türkiye is our common goal, regardless of political affiliation. This is the very purpose of the struggle we wage in the political arena. I invite every member of our nation to support the medium-term program.
DETAILS OF THE TAX-FREE MOBILE PHONE AND COMPUTER INITIATIVE HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED
We are implementing our promise of mobile phone and computer support for our university students in formal education. We will provide device support of up to 5,500 Turkish Liras for mobile phones and computers with a market sales price not exceeding 9,500 Turkish Liras for our university students.
We will provide support amounting to 44.4 percent of the market price for mobile phones and 16.7 percent for computers. We are defining a monthly free 10 GB quota for 12 months for our university students in formal education, limited to one line. Our youth will be able to use these rights through any of the three mobile network operators they choose.
We will provide a 'Youth Card' valid for one year to all young people who turn 18, allowing them to benefit from museums, cinemas, and theaters for free or at a discount. We will increase our university students' access to technology and information. The implementation principles regarding both forms of support will be determined by our ministries.
CALL TO ELON MUSK TO 'INVEST'
Interest in Türkiye has increased worldwide following the recent elections, which demonstrated the strength of Turkish democracy and our nation's determination to uphold its will. We observed this truth once again when we attended the UN General Assembly. Our Turkish House, located right across from the UN, was once again one of the most important centers of our diplomacy this year. Meetings were held with many leaders, including those from Algeria, Poland, Georgia, Italy, Greece, Israel, and the NATO Secretary General. We presented identity cards to our Ahıska Turk brothers and sisters.
We came together with the American business world. During our meeting with Elon Musk, I invited him to invest in our country. The number of those who acknowledge and support our thesis that 'the world is bigger than five' is increasing day by day. The UN Secretary General called for reform using expressions similar to our country's theses. In our address to the General Assembly, we took a tour of the horizon regarding global issues. We stated that the family institution, which is targeted by global lobbies, must be protected. We reaffirmed our will to develop cooperation with the Turkish and Islamic worlds.
“WE WILL OFFER INTEREST-FREE LOAN OPPORTUNITIES TO NEWLY MARRIED COUPLES”
We once again proclaimed that Karabakh is Azerbaijani territory. We expressed with all our sincere feelings that a fairer world is possible. We signed the Global Zero Waste declaration under the auspices of my wife, Emine Erdoğan. We invite everyone to support this by signing this declaration of goodwill. We experienced the happiness of witnessing once again the reality of a Turkey whose weight and reputation in the world are increasing. As Turkey, we are determined to lead the efforts to protect the institution of the family, which is the foundation of society and humanity. We have taken our first step with the clear messages we gave from the UN podium.
We have completed our projects aimed at supporting young people who will get married economically and building their marriages on more solid foundations. In the coming period, we will submit the legislative proposal regarding the Family and Youth Bank to the appreciation of our Parliament. We will transfer a portion of the state revenues obtained from natural gas, oil, and mines here. We will first implement pilot projects for families and youth and then expand them. We will offer interest-free loan opportunities to newly married couples. We will start this practice as a pilot project for the Family and Youth Bank in the earthquake zone.
“WE HOPE TO TURN OUR REGION INTO A BASIN OF PEACE AND PROSPERITY”
Yesterday, we embraced our brothers and sisters in Nakhchivan, which the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal, described as the 'Turkish Gate.' Nakhchivan has a distinct strategic importance for us due to its geopolitical position. We laid the foundation of the 80,150-meter Iğdır-Nakhchivan natural gas pipeline, which we promised during our Baku visit in 2020. With the project, all of Nakhchivan's natural gas needs will be met. We all took pride in the success of the operation carried out by the Azerbaijani army against terrorist elements in Karabakh. I congratulate the victorious Azerbaijani army once again from here.
Despite the pain, persecution, and massacres they experienced for 30 years, the attitude shown by our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters towards the Armenians in Karabakh is beyond all appreciation. All the claims of some states that have fed on the lack of resolution in the region for years are nothing but nonsense and slander. We hope that Armenia will not give credit to such provocations coming from outside and from the diaspora. Hopefully, by implementing the Zangezur corridor as soon as possible, we will make our railway and highway connection with our friendly and brotherly Azerbaijan uninterrupted. We hope to turn our region into a basin of peace and prosperity.
Today, our Minister of Transport made a comprehensive presentation regarding both the Zangezur corridor and the development road that we will implement together with Iraq and the Gulf countries. Despite the obstruction efforts of the opposition, we will add new ones to the massive transport investments we have brought to our country in the last 21 years. Sustainable development has formed the basis of all our programs. In a climate of trust and stability, we have not only remedied our country's century-old deficiencies in democracy and development, but we have also succeeded in illuminating the horizon of the Century of Turkey.”
