Erdoğan announces 'marriage loan' amount, Demirtaş warns: 'The problem can be mitigated'

In a statement, AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan announced the marriage loan amount determined by the government to encourage young people to marry, saying, "We are offering our young people taking their first step into marriage an interest-free loan support of 150,000 TL with a 48-month maturity and a 2-year grace period."

Following the announcement of the 150 thousand lira interest-free loan amount, numerous comments were made on social media regarding this figure. Among these comments, the words of economist Özgür Demirtaş drew attention.

First warning that the announced amount could increase fake marriages, Demirtaş also responded to a follower's warning that the figure was not very high, stating, "In this country, people kill for 1,000 TL. They will enter into fake marriages for 150,000 TL..."

Özgür Demirtaş's post was as follows:

Fake marriages will increase.

There may be divorces after getting married and taking the money.

This problem I mentioned can be mitigated with a condition of not divorcing for a certain period.
