Erdoğan appoints Muhsin Şentürk as Chief Public Prosecutor of the Court of Cassation
Erdoğan has appointed Muhsin Şentürk, the head of the 3rd Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation who signed the ruling on Can Atalay, as the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Court of Cassation.
According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, Court of Cassation Chamber President Muhsin Şentürk was selected from among the candidates presented by the Grand General Assembly of the Court of Cassation, in accordance with Article 154 of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey and Articles 30 and 32 of the Court of Cassation Law No. 2797, to serve as the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Court of Cassation.
It had been alleged that Şentürk withdrew from the Court of Cassation presidency election at the request of Erdoğan.
