Erdoğan: As 85 million, we are all in the same boat
AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan spoke at the August 30 Victory Day special program held at the Presidential Palace. In his speech, Erdoğan targeted the opposition and the criticisms directed at him.
The program, attended by approximately 2,000 guests including military officials, state dignitaries, and foreign mission chiefs, began with welcoming concerts by the Ministry of National Defense Mehter Band and the Gendarmerie General Command Band.
Following the concert, AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan made statements.
Emphasizing the 'internal front' regarding reactions across the country, Erdoğan stated, "Economic difficulties occur in the lives of nations, and political tension can rise from time to time. Disagreements can arise between segments of society. Competition is indispensable to social, political, and economic life. It is not realistic, nor is it correct, to expect 85 million people to agree on every issue. Neither fleeting economic difficulties nor daily political debates can cause us permanent harm."

Erdoğan continued his speech with the following remarks:
"If a breach is opened in our internal fortress, it will be arduous to recover. We will all pay the price. I believe that no one who loves their nation and feels they belong to these lands will allow a lose-lose equation. We have been witnessing various provocations recently.
We see the dangerous place where this dirty language wants to drag the country. We will not fall into the trap of fifth-column apparatuses. As 85 million, we are all in the same boat. Even if our political views, origins, and beliefs are different, we live under the same sky and on the same homeland soil.
We are walking with firm steps toward our ideal of a fully independent Turkey; we will not fall into the trap of fifth-column apparatuses whose keyboards drip with poison!"
