Striking message from Erdoğan's chief advisor Mehmet Uçum regarding the election process in Van!

In the March 31 Local Elections, the right to be elected of DEM Party mayoral candidate Abdullah Zeydan, who came in first in Van, was revoked, and the certificate of election was given to the second-place AKP candidate, Abdulahat Arvas.

Upon the objection of the DEM Party, the Supreme Election Council (YSK) overturned the decision of the Van Provincial Election Board and ruled that the certificate of election for the Van Metropolitan Municipality, which had been given to the AKP candidate, should be given to the DEM Party candidate, Abdullah Zeydan.

While the protests in Van over two days increased tension in the region, AKP Deputy Chairman Hayati Yazıcı stated in a post, "The Supreme Election Council (YSK) has ended the state of madness that emerged on April 1 regarding the mayoral election in our province of Van with the accurate decision it made. I sincerely congratulate the High Council and its esteemed members." Yazıcı later deleted his post.

The second statement regarding the YSK's decision came from Mehmet Uçum, Chief Advisor to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Legal Policies Board.

Targeting the DEM Party and the opposition supporting Abdullah Zeydan, Uçum said that the protests in the city were "part of attack plans against the integrity of Turkey."

The second statement regarding the decision came from Chief Presidential Advisor Mehmet Uçum. In his post, Mehmet Uçum targeted the DEM Party and the opposition supporting Abdullah Zeydan.

Referring to the criminal conviction against Zeydan, Uçum said, "It should be noted that the restoration of prohibited rights cannot be in question due to the 3-year, 1-month, and 15-day prison sentence upheld by the Court of Cassation for the crime of terrorist organization propaganda, but how this happened will also be evaluated."

"Everyone is evaluating the Van process from their own front, which is understandable. However, the hopes of the Westernist and neo-liberal internal circles will be dashed. The Turkish society set a direction for the government in the local elections, and the State read this very well.

The National State will will teach a lesson to those who interpret these election results as creating conditions for handing Turkey over to the sovereign powers of the West.

The Van process was experienced entirely as a legal process. But the State and Society are both aware of those who try to legitimize the terrorist organization and its legal-looking extensions, which exploit this legal process with calls for 'uprising' before it is even completed.

Everyone also notices that the stances taken in the Van incident by all actors of the opposition, and more strikingly, by those who are accepted to be within the government but have surrendered their mental worlds to Westernism with neo-liberal poison, are being recorded.

Ultimately, regarding Van, the YSK accepted the individual's objection and the legal process resulted in the individual's favor. But despite this, it has become crystal clear that the true intentions of those who are still chasing uprising strategies through this process are not related to democracy and voter will, but are part of attack plans against the integrity of Turkey. The state of those who fall for this deception, who do not see this game, and who consider themselves apostles of democracy is pathetic.
