Erdoğan gives the order: Deliberations on the controversial defense industry proposal postponed

A new development has occurred regarding the "Defense Industry Support Fund," which was submitted to the Speaker of Parliament by the AKP and has sparked significant public criticism. The session of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Planning and Budget Committee, where deliberations had begun, was closed. AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler stated that the proposal would be re-evaluated and has been postponed. 

Deliberations on the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Certain Regulations Regarding the Defense Industry and Other Laws began at the TBMM Planning and Budget Committee.

The committee convened under the chairmanship of AKP Samsun Deputy Mehmet Muş.

According to a report by Birgün, the primary signatory of the proposal, AKP Aksaray Deputy Hüseyin Altınsoy, provided information to the committee regarding the draft.

Following Altınsoy's presentation to the committee, the session moved on to general deliberations regarding the proposal.

While the committee deliberations were ongoing, a notable development occurred: the TBMM Planning and Budget Committee session was closed.

DELIBERATIONS ON THE PROPOSAL POSTPONED

AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler announced that the proposal would be re-evaluated and that the deliberations had been postponed.

In his statement, Güler said, "We will conduct a detailed review. We will see our 2025 budget. We will evaluate it after the budget. Our President has also instructed us to conduct a detailed and meticulous review."
