According to the election calendar announced by the Supreme Election Council (YSK), the period for free propaganda ended as of 6:00 PM yesterday (March 30).

Accordingly, political parties and candidates participating in the election are prohibited from conducting propaganda to voters via video or written messages.

However, AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan violated the propaganda ban by sending an SMS at 6:03 PM.

HAMZA DAĞ AND TURGUT ALTINOK ALSO SENT MESSAGES

In addition to Erdoğan, his party's İzmir candidate Hamza Dağ and Ankara candidate Turgut Altınok also violated the election ban.

AKP's İzmir Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Hamza Dağ solicited votes from voters with a text message he sent at 7:24 PM.

AKP's Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) mayoral candidate Turgut Altınok also sent a message at 11:03 PM stating, "Let's go to the polls and cast our votes so that our capital can be governed with real municipalism."
