Erdoğan orders 'troll cleanup' at AKP Central Executive Board meeting! A scalpel will be applied soon...
It has been learned that AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave instructions at his party's Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting to identify social media trolls.
Work continues on the roadmap for the new era in the AKP, which emerged from the March 31 Local Elections with a defeat.
Social media trolls and the damage they cause to the party were discussed at the AKP Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting held under the chairmanship of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
It was learned that Erdoğan, who had previously given instructions for the identification of troll accounts, said, “No one we have not authorized can speak on our behalf or commit character assassination. Do not allow character assassination against the party's corporate identity and its senior officials. Support our colleagues who are exposed to such situations, do not give an opportunity for lynching.”
According to Emrah Özcan from the Türkiye newspaper, which is known for its proximity to the government, AKP sources noted that they have identified that dozens of accounts, particularly on “X”, are carrying out character assassinations against the party's corporate identity and its senior officials in exchange for money.
Party officials made the following assessment: “Who is doing it, with what method, which trolls they are using, on whose behalf they are doing it; these are emerging in technical examinations. It is done in a planned, programmed way, by spending money and targeting certain people. We are following these, and we will continue to do so. This party is not a party shaped by trolls. The AK Party is a corporate and deep-rooted party. Everyone should know what they are doing. We are following the issue very seriously.”
