Erdoğan's statement on Kurdish

President Erdoğan sent a message to the 'Classical Kurdish Literature and Masterpieces of Kurdish' event: In his message, Erdoğan stated, 'I find the introduction of Kurdish masterpieces to our youth and their transmission to future generations to be very valuable.'

On the sixth day of the Van Culture Road Festival, the 'Classical Kurdish Literature and Masterpieces of Kurdish' event was held. The event took place at the Van Provincial Public Library Conference Hall, moderated by Chief Advisor to the President Gülşen Orhan, with the participation of Mehmet Nesim Doru, Ali Karadeniz, M. Halit Yalçın (Xalid Sadini), and Abdulhadi Timurtaş.

The message sent to the event by President Tayyip Erdoğan was read by Chief Advisor to the President Gülşen Orhan. In his message, President Erdoğan wished for the Van Culture Road Festival to be beneficial for the city, the region, and the country and expressed his well wishes.

Expressing his belief that this festival, which includes many programs focused on culture and art, will be a 'symbol of the developing face' of Van, Erdoğan pointed out that centers where classical Kurdish literature flourished—such as Cizre, Hamadan, Van, Ardalan, Amadiya, Bitlis, Hakkari, Doğubayazıt, Müküs, Hizan, Mayyafariqin, Siirt, and Diyarbakır—were also cities that made a name for themselves with their madrasas.

Erdoğan included the following statements in his message:

'Many scholars, writers, and poets who reached the pinnacle of their fields were raised in these madrasas, which also produced significant works in the fields of history, philosophy, music, architecture, engineering, mathematics, and astronomy alongside literature. Many masters of speech, pen, and science, such as Ali Hariri, Melaye Ciziri, Ahmed-i Hani, and Feqiye Teyran, gifted their works not only to the people of these lands but to all of humanity. I find this program held in Van to be very valuable in terms of introducing the masterpieces of Kurdish to our youth and transmitting the richness contained within our civilization to future generations. On this occasion, I congratulate everyone who contributed to the events and greet you all once again with affection.'
