Erdoğan's striking 'heinous plans' message at Anıtkabir: 'We do not allow it'

An official ceremony was held at Anıtkabir for the August 30 Victory Day. State officials, led by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, visited Atatürk's mausoleum on the 104th anniversary of the Great Victory.

The ceremony was attended by Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, as well as political party leaders and members of the state protocol. Erdoğan laid a wreath adorned with a crescent and star motif at the mausoleum. Following a moment of silence, the National Anthem was played.

After the ceremony at Anıtkabir, Erdoğan and the accompanying protocol members moved to the Misak-ı Milli Tower. There, Erdoğan signed the Anıtkabir Special Book.

In his message, Erdoğan stated that the Republic of Turkey is viewed as a legacy of the martyrs and veterans, and expressed that the country continues to be strengthened with a "spirit of brotherhood and solidarity."

The book contained the following words: "Just as we did 104 years ago, today we do not allow heinous plans targeting our country and our geography, and we resolutely protect our nation's independence and future. May your soul rest in peace."

Erdoğan wrote the following in the book:

"Dear Atatürk, today, as a nation, we are once again proudly celebrating the 104th anniversary of the Great Victory.

We commemorate with gratitude your esteemed self, who contributed to the Great Victory, which is one of the turning points of the national struggle, as well as the valuable members of our Grand National Assembly and the heroic soldiers of our heroic army.

We continue to strengthen the Republic of Turkey, which we see as the sacred legacy of our martyrs and veterans, in every field with a spirit of brotherhood and solidarity, guided by the heritage we inherited from them.

Just as we did 104 years ago, today we do not allow heinous plans targeting our country and our geography, and we resolutely protect our nation's independence and future.

*May your soul rest in peace."
