Erdoğan settles the bill for March 31: Resignations of 5 names in the AKP and 3 ministers in the Cabinet will be requested!
Sözcü columnist İsmail Saymaz has listed the names in the AKP, which suffered a defeat in the March 31 Local Elections, whose resignations may be requested. Pointing to 3 ministers serving in the Cabinet in addition to names within the party, Saymaz wrote, "These three ministers could be replaced in the first year of the government."
Turkey has left the March 31 Local Elections behind. According to unofficial results, the Republican People's Party (CHP) has become the leading party across Turkey for the first time in 47 years with 37.77 percent of the vote. The AKP, meanwhile, lost an election for the first time in 22 years and came in second in Turkey.
Following the election defeat, all eyes have turned to the moves that AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will make both within the party and in the Cabinet.
Sözcü columnist İsmail Saymaz included the names that could be dismissed in the section of his column today titled "Whose heads will roll in the AK Party?"
Saymaz wrote, "The heads of Political and Legal Affairs Head Hayati Yazıcı, Election Affairs Head Ali İhsan Yavuz, Local Governments Head Yusuf Ziya Yılmaz, Organization Head Erkan Kandemir, and Secretary General Fatih Şahin, who are being held responsible for March 31, may roll."
Stating that "the names of three ministers are also being mentioned among those whose heads will roll," Saymaz continued as follows;
"Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç is considered unsuccessful by Erdoğan for failing to control the organization and being passive; Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu for failing to show the expected performance; and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar for failing to produce policy. These three ministers could be replaced in the first year of the government."
