Erdoğan skips April 23 session, attends funeral of İsmailağa Community leader Hasan Kılıç
President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan did not attend the special April 23 session at the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Erdoğan traveled to Fatih Mosque in Istanbul for the funeral of İsmailağa Community leader Hasan Kılıç.
İsmailağa Community leader Hasan Kılıç passed away yesterday evening (22.04.2024).
President and AKP Chairman Erdoğan conveyed his condolences over Kılıç's death and, recalling their meeting before the local elections, stated, "We had met with the late Hasan Efendi face-to-face a short while ago and received his blessing."

President Erdoğan said, "I pray that the Lord may bless his soul and grant him a place in heaven. I extend my condolences to our esteemed teacher's family, relatives, students, and the entire İsmailağa community."
It was announced that Kılıç's funeral would be held today at Fatih Mosque following the afternoon prayer, after which he would be laid to rest at the Sakızağacı Cemetery.

On the other hand, Erdoğan did not attend the special April 23 session at the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
Instead of the session at Parliament, Erdoğan departed for Istanbul to attend Hasan Kılıç's funeral.
