Erdoğan speaks at iftar program with farmers: Even if some pin all their hopes on this, agriculture in Turkey has not ended, and hopefully it never will

Speaking after an iftar program with farmers in Istanbul, President Erdoğan said, "Even if some pin all their hopes on this, agriculture in Turkey has not ended and will not end. What will end are the elitists who ask, 'Is my vote equal to that of a shepherd in the mountains?'"

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements at an iftar program with farmers in Istanbul.

Highlights from President Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

The support you provide to development is very important. You were the ones who shouldered this nation's return to the stage of history. You were the ones who enabled Turkey to stand tall. In 2026, we allocated 939 billion liras in resources to agriculture.

AGRICULTURE IN TURKEY HAS NOT ENDED, AND IT WILL NOT END

Our government has never left the producer or the farmer alone; the support we have provided to the sector is 706 billion TL. The claim that agriculture has ended is untrue. International reports also refute this. Even if some pin all their hopes on this, agriculture in Turkey has not ended and will not end. What will end are the elitists who ask, 'Is my vote equal to that of a shepherd in the mountains?'

I thank those who support the fight against inflation. The fight against exorbitant prices continues. We are allocating half of our 14.5 billion lira rural development support in 2026 to women and families.
