Erdoğan speaks out on 'chaos plot' regarding 'refugee crisis' in Kayseri
AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan made significant statements following the Cabinet Meeting. Speaking about the incidents that broke out in Kayseri due to the molestation of a 5-year-old girl, Erdoğan said, "A chaos plot was staged in Kayseri, but the attempts at sedition have failed."
Statements from AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan:
I wish Murat Kurum and Kemal Memişoğlu success in their new roles. We will continue to remain in close contact with both of our friends who have requested to be relieved of their duties.
With the 9-day holiday break and the closing of schools, our citizens traveled to their hometowns and vacation spots with peace of mind. I thank all our personnel who worked to ensure our citizens' journeys were safe. I kiss the eyes of our soldiers serving at home and abroad for the survival and security of the homeland.
We were shaken by stubble and forest fires during the holiday. I pray for God's mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives in Mardin and Diyarbakır. Because every summer season is becoming more arid, the risk of fire increases. We also know that the separatist organization uses forest fires as a method of terrorism.
We have taken significant steps in the effective fight against forest fires. We are continuing this struggle with 26 aircraft, 105 helicopters, and more than 5,000 land vehicles. We are using UAVs effectively. We are monitoring 24/7 with 14 Bayraktar TB2s. We are one of the two countries that use UAVs in the fight against fires. Our 25,000 personnel and more than 122,000 volunteers are working.
We have entered days where summer heat is felt very intensely; let us not forget that even the slightest negligence will cause great damage. In our meeting with our farmers last month, we revealed where Turkey has come in the last 21 years. Those who criticize our government's agricultural policies act with prejudice rather than knowledge. They also view the subject of agriculture as a matter of exploitation. These are not issues to be made a subject of mockery in election squares. We have approached agriculture with an understanding appropriate to the seriousness and importance of the sector.
In the last 21 years, we have provided 1 trillion 364 billion in agricultural support. It is 56 billion so far, and it will be 91.5 billion by the end of the year.
We initiated the provision of support payments to our producers in addition to the fresh tea purchase price. We lifted the restrictions on daily purchases and enabled producers to sell their products above the purchase price of ÇAY-KUR.
We are using one-quarter of total agricultural subsidies to contribute to wheat producers. The procurement processes are being carried out meticulously. The TMO (Turkish Grain Board) has begun grain payments.
I am giving the necessary instructions to our ministers to resolve the problems of our farmer brothers and sisters. We will not allow political rent to be extracted through our farmers.
Turkey is located in a geography that is the intersection point of three continents with exceptionally high strategic importance. We are at the cradle of civilizations and right at the center of the struggle for sharing. The roads leading to the First World War passed through our region; it was the same in the Second World War, and it was the same during the Cold War. The Syrian crisis affected us the most, and we are once again among the countries most exposed to the negative effects of the Russia-Ukraine War. Israel's massacres in Palestine continue to burn our hearts.
"WE ARE FACING A MURDERER WHO HAS LOST THEIR MIND AND CONSCIENCE"
We see that Israel has set its sights on its neighbors. The increasing rhetoric of threats and attacks against Lebanon is worrying. As long as the Western world provides support and the Islamic world remains silent, it is clear that the criminal called Netanyahu will continue his occupation policy. Both the missile tension experienced with Iran and the increase in his attacks on Lebanon have proven us right. We are facing a murderer who has lost their mind and conscience. As long as the Israeli aggression under the Netanyahu administration is not stopped, no country can feel safe.
We continue to advance our relations with all actors in the region, starting with our neighbors. We have worked hard to find a political solution to the conflict that has been going on in Syria for more than 13 years. Protecting Syria's territorial integrity and national unity is also Turkey's priority. Turkey has dealt the heaviest blow to the terrorist state that was intended to be established for the PKK. We want to see a democratic, prosperous, and strong Syria. We want Syria to become safe for the millions of Syrians who were forced to leave their homes. Additional steps can be taken for peace in Syria.
Instead of deepening divisions, we are in a position to expand the common ground. Just as in domestic policy, we consider it important to open clenched fists in foreign policy as well. While doing this, we will primarily consider Turkey's interests, but we will not leave anyone who acts with us halfway.
With the support that lasted 44 days, we not only ended the occupation of Karabakh but also cleaned up the shame that a single party had inflicted on our country. As a country that has martyred its children to terrorism in Solingen, we will never allow scenes that are incompatible with our civilized values to take place.
"ATTEMPTS AT SEDITION HAVE FAILED"
We are a country that has developed immunity to chaos plans orchestrated on the streets. The same chaos plan was staged in Kayseri over an extremely disgusting and disgraceful molestation case. We know very well who wrote this script, which was carried out with the remnants of the terrorist organization. Neither we, nor our nation, nor our Syrian brothers will fall into this insidious trap; we will not bow to racist vandalism. Just as we know how to break the hands reaching for our flag, we also know how to break the hands reaching for the oppressed. 474 provocateurs have been detained. The attempts at sedition have failed.
Interventions were made against provocations in northern Syria. Turkey's presence in Syria is the greatest obstacle to the establishment of a 'Terroristan' state.
We have no designs on anyone's land; we are only protecting our homeland against separatist intentions. We have always encouraged the safe, voluntary, and dignified return of our Syrian brothers.
Our nation, which had the final say in the legislative and executive branches on May 14-28, also showed who it wanted to see at the helm on March 31. It is a fact that there are those in our history who ignore the will manifested at the ballot box. There is no such concept as an early election.
Instead, there is the decision to renew elections. It is understood that the opposition, as in every field, is following Turkey from behind on this issue as well. The opposition should not manage its internal reckoning in a way that harms the country. We have a period ahead of us without elections. Everyone should make their plans accordingly. Our government will continue to build the Century of Turkey very strongly.
CLEAR MESSAGE FROM ERDOĞAN REGARDING EARLY ELECTIONS
Erdoğan spoke clearly regarding the "early election" calls frequently voiced by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel in particular. Closing the doors to an early election, Erdoğan asked everyone to make their plans accordingly.
"OUR NATION HAS HAD THE FINAL SAY"
President Erdoğan stated: "Our nation, which had its final say on the legislature and executive on May 14-28, also indicated who it wanted to see at the helm of local governments on March 31. Elections are, of course, a festival of democracy, a day of celebration. It is a reality of our country that there have been those in our history who disregarded the will manifested at the ballot box. They did this sometimes by casting a shadow over the reputation of the ballot box, and sometimes by showing disrespect to the voters."
"THERE IS NO EARLY ELECTION IN THE PRESIDENTIAL SYSTEM"
We see that this arrogant attitude and the folly of disregarding the voter's will have resurfaced recently. We believe that early election discussions should be viewed from this perspective. These discussions are merely a reflection of the civil war within the opposition front. There is no early election in the presidential system. Instead, there is the decision to renew elections. The opposition is trying to mask the arm-wrestling within its own ranks with such baseless, fake agendas.
"EVERYONE SHOULD MAKE THEIR PLANS ACCORDINGLY"
We are focusing only and exclusively on our work. While Turkey has spent the last year with an election agenda, while new crises and conflicts erupt in our region every day, while the world is drifting into a vortex of uncertainty, and while our country and nation have issues that need to be resolved, we do not find it right to lean toward such conditions just to outmaneuver old and new teammates. From the business world to politicians, from tradesmen to civil servants, from housewives to students, everyone should make their plans and programs accordingly. We will strive to fulfill the trust placed in us by the nation without getting caught up in futile agendas.
