Erdoğan targets both Özgür Özel and the IMM: 'This is not opposition, it is snitching'
President Erdoğan made statements regarding the agenda at the 28th Ordinary General Assembly of MÜSİAD, held at the Haliç Congress Center. Erdoğan's targets were CHP leader Özgür Özel and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM).
Attending the 28th Ordinary General Assembly of MÜSİAD at the Haliç Congress Center, President Erdoğan made statements regarding the agenda. Remaining silent on the statement made by the PKK terrorist organization, Erdoğan targeted CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and the operations conducted against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM).
Erdoğan claimed, "The Chairman of the main opposition party is complaining about his country to the foreign press. He is harming domestic and national companies with boycott calls. He is harming workers who bring bread to their homes. He is harming our business world," and added, "The CHP Chairman should excuse me, but this is not opposition; it is economic hit-jobbing, it is snitching."
Stating, "No one can complain about their own country to foreigners under the pretext of opposition," Erdoğan continued his words as follows:
"The scale has been tipped. The hope for correction is gradually diminishing. Marginalizing politics is the greatest harm that can be done to this country. Turkey knows this toxic political language very well from before 1960. It knows it very well from before February 28. It knows it very well from the Gezi uprising. It is essential for the CHP to normalize rapidly. The esteemed Chairman must now free himself from the yoke of the criminal organization and return to the country's real agenda. Turkey needs an embrace, not polarization."
'THIS IS CALLED ECONOMIC HIT-JOBBING'
Erdoğan continued his words as follows:
"As in every period of our political life, we are both working, providing services, and fighting against smear campaigns. We are faced with the opposition's desire to conduct politics in a destructive manner. The Chairman of the main opposition party is complaining about his country to the foreign press. He is harming domestic and national companies with boycott calls. He is harming workers who bring bread to their homes. He is harming our business world. The CHP Chairman should excuse me, but this is not opposition; it is economic hit-jobbing, it is snitching."
