Erdoğan's assessment of the 3rd missile: 'Traps trying to drag us into war'

Erdoğan attended the 'National Will Iftar' held in Istanbul. Making assessments regarding the war in the region, Erdoğan issued a statement concerning the 3rd ballistic missile that was fired from Iran, entered Turkish airspace, and was neutralized by NATO air and missile defense elements stationed in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Regarding the issue, Erdoğan said, "We are engaged in activities to prevent all kinds of threats in our airspace," and added, "We are vigilant against traps that attempt to drag our country into war."

In his speech, Erdoğan also targeted the intellectuals, artists, and journalists who signed the Secularism declaration once again.

TARGETED THE INTELLECTUALS WHO SIGNED THE SECULARISM DECLARATION

In his speech, after recalling the Gaza rallies held in Haliç, Erdoğan once again targeted the intellectuals, artists, and journalists who signed the Secularism declaration.

Erdoğan stated the following:

"We will not consent to oppression, we will not shrink or remain silent in the face of pressures. On this occasion, I congratulate the National Will Platform, which has stood by the truth and the righteous in the 4 Gaza rallies held so far with the participation of millions. I pray for and thank you for taking a stand by the national will and the nation for approximately 13 years.

This platform, which has 312 active members, mostly non-governmental organizations, has more than lived up to its name since 2013. As long as we keep the solidarity and friendship among us alive, we can protect our democracy from threats and dangers. Like the bricks of a wall; as long as we are tightly locked together, we can break the illicit hands reaching for our independence and future.

We can only resist the ideological impositions of the group that insulted the nation with the declarations they published 1 day before Ramadan-i Sharif in this way. Hopefully, from now on, we will continue our struggle as one heart and one fist."

"TRAPS TRYING TO DRAG OUR COUNTRY INTO WAR"

Making a statement regarding the third missile fired from Iran and destroyed by NATO elements in Turkish airspace, Erdoğan said:

"Especially in the current conjuncture our region is in, we need to strengthen our brotherhood and maintain our common sense. As the government, we are vigilant against schemes, arrangements, and traps that attempt to drag our country into war. We are focusing on the part hidden behind the curtain, we are not excluding any possibility or any scenario, and we are analyzing and examining everything down to the finest detail.

We are engaged in activities to prevent all kinds of threats in our airspace. Our government's 23 years of crisis management experience and ancient state wisdom are our greatest guide in understanding the complex events around us and providing measured responses. Keeping our country away from the pit of fire is our primary priority.

I want you to be very careful against the sectarian and ethnic-based provocations that are being fanned simultaneously with the attacks on Iran. Here, I want every one of my brothers to know this; we have set out on a long and narrow road."
