Erdoğan's chief advisor deletes Maduro post

Explosion sounds were heard in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. While it was learned that there were at least 7 explosions in the region, the first statement from the Venezuelan government included the following: "The goal of the US attacks is to seize Venezuela's oil and minerals. The US will not succeed in seizing the resources. The attacks took place in Caracas and the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira."

Venezuelan President Maduro announced that a state of emergency has been declared in the country. The first reaction from Turkey to the attack, which has become a global talking point, came from the Presidential Palace.

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's chief advisor Cemil Ertem reacted to the developments in a post on his social media account and sent a message saying, "We stand with Maduro." Ertem later deleted the post he had made. In the post he deleted, Ertem had used the following expressions:

"The genocidal US is continuing the imperial banditry it carries out in the Middle East together with murderous Israel by attacking Venezuela. We stand with the people of Venezuela and President Maduro! This banditry must not go unpunished!"
