Erdoğan’s 'Dilruba' outburst: He lashes out at Özgür Özel!

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements at his party's Extended Provincial Heads Meeting.

Erdoğan's target was CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

Recalling the 'normalization' period, Erdoğan targeted Özgür Özel over Dilruba Kayserilioğlu, saying:

"They said they had changed, they said they had normalized, they said they had abandoned their old habits, but they placed a person who insulted the nation and the will of 28 million in the seat of honor as a guest of honor in İzmir on August 30th.

You cannot feed this to us or to the nation. The nation looks at what you do. Our nation does not forgive those who speak ill of its will and those who protect insults. That photograph, which offended not only those who voted for our party but the overwhelming majority of the nation, did not suit Turkish politics. That photograph did not suit Turkish democracy at all, not at all. We believe that CHP leader Özel owes the nation an apology."

Reminding of the May 14-28 election results, Erdoğan stated regarding high inflation: “On our agenda is reducing inflation to single digits and putting an end to the high cost of living.”

"With the same excitement we set out with 23 years ago, we serve our nation with the same passion today. We embrace every single citizen without marginalizing anyone. For exactly 23 years, we have had no divisions. We say we are together, we are brothers.

You know very well what we have dealt with over the past 23 years. We have been the target of many operations and attempts at tutelage to this day. We have faced many troubles, from terrorist acts to coups, from street protests to media campaigns.

Seeds of discord were wanted to be sown within our party. Many obstacles were placed in front of us to slow us down. Many attacks came from inside and outside, from elites who see themselves as the owners of the country, and from certain capital circles.

They resorted to every trick to pit our nation against each other, to stir up our streets, and thus to prepare an environment suitable for tutelage. Thank God, we shielded our chests against all attacks. We repelled all these attacks.

We did not allow a handful of arrogant monuments to act as masters over the nation. We always said God is enough for us, the nation is enough for us. We have walked the path we know to be right with our heads held high and our foreheads clear until today.

“WE ARE AWARE OF THE DIFFICULTIES”

We are a cadre in love with Turkey that has shared a common destiny with this nation. As we have for 23 years, we are concerned with serving our country and producing works today as well. We do not close our eyes to any difficulty our citizens face. We are aware of the hardships our workers, retirees, and farmers face due to the high cost of living. The nation's trouble is our trouble. Every complaint of our nation has a place on our heads.

You see the pathetic state of the opposition. Environmental plunder is running rampant in the cities they govern. Fish cannot breathe in the İzmir Gulf due to pollution. A new one is added to the nepotism scandals every day. They are fighting for seats before anything has even begun. They do not have a single service they can proudly show the nation and say, 'this is our work.'

HE TARGETED ÖZEL OVER 'DILRUBA'

They turned the party founded by Gazi Mustafa Kemal into a party that protects those who insult the public. One should have at least a little respect for the will of the nation.

We all have duties in terms of keeping our internal front strong. There is a greater need than ever for a responsible understanding of politics. This is exactly what the AK Party cadres are. We expect an attitude that prioritizes common sense from all political parties, especially the opposition.

"OUR AGENDA IS INFLATION"

The definitive decision our nation made with a 52.18 percent vote in the May 14-28 elections is clear. We view every issue brought up outside of Turkey's real agenda as beating the air, and we do not take it into account. On our agenda is reducing inflation to single digits and putting an end to the high cost of living.

The balloon that the opposition inflated itself is deflating, and the pieces in Turkish politics are falling into place. I believe that this momentum will continue to accelerate. With the decision we made at the MKYK meeting, we have officially started our congress marathon. After completing our delegate elections, we will say 'In the name of God' to our town and district congresses on October 12th. Of course, before that, we will scan all of Turkey district by district, neighborhood by neighborhood with Turkey Meetings. We will listen to our nation and strengthen our heart-to-heart bridges with our citizens once again.

"WE WILL CONTINUE OUR PATH IN A RENEWED MANNER"

We will weigh ourselves again on the nation's sensitive scale, review ourselves, and continue our path in a renewed manner. We will manage the process within the framework of the prepared congress calendar. I especially want all my friends to know this; we desire to turn our 8th Grand Congress marathon into a cause for a new rise. Our congress will open a new path not only for our party but also for our country."
