Erdoğan's former speechwriter Aydın Ünal blames Ali Yerlikaya: 'Neither a coup attempt, nor FETÖ...'

Yeni Şafak columnist Aydın Ünal evaluated the developments at the Ankara Police Department within the scope of the Ayhan Bora Kaplan investigation, which has dominated Turkey's agenda, stating: "It is neither a coup attempt, nor a FETÖ operation, nor a fight between sects in the bureaucracy, nor an attack on the People's Alliance... After the capture of a criminal organization leader, a small-scale 'proxy' struggle is taking place among three or five high-level personnel in the police force."

Erdoğan's former speechwriter Aydın Ünal blames Ali Yerlikaya: 'Neither a coup attempt, nor FETÖ...'

Developments in the Ayhan Bora Kaplan investigation continue to remain on the agenda.

Yeni Şafak columnist Aydın Ünal, who once served as a speechwriter for AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, evaluated the events occurring at the Ankara Police Department regarding the investigation in his article titled "A proxy conflict in Ankara."

Ünal blamed the Ministry of Interior and the media for the escalation of the incident within the police force.

Criticizing certain media groups by saying, "They started revenge operations over this conflict by opening some old books and blew the issue out of proportion," Ünal stated, "For example, some journalist friends... They made comments without sufficiently evaluating the false and incorrect data that came to them, and knowingly or unknowingly became instruments in blowing the issue out of proportion."

"If the Ministry of Interior had been able to manage the communication of the issue correctly from the very beginning, the matter would not have entered the agenda of either Mr. Bahçeli or the President. It would have been resolved before it grew," said Ünal, adding, "And again, if the Ministry of Interior had used correct information methods in an extremely sensitive area like security, avoided turning every operation into advertising material, and instead focused on the control of the police bureaucracy, focusing on the bureaucracy working in complete discipline and harmony, this much noise would not have been made."
