New statement from Erdoğan on the 'sword oath': 'We will take our steps'

Erdoğan said, "As for the sword issue, this matter was unfortunately a mess created by a few ignorant people. This is not a field where the ignorant can run wild. We certainly cannot leave our country to a field where these ignorant people run wild." Erdoğan also stated, "Without limiting the issue to the first 4 articles, we should focus on the question of 'What kind of constitution should we make?'"

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with journalists at the Turkish House in New York.

When asked about the lieutenants' sword oath, Erdoğan said, "We have been explaining and presenting the new to Turkey for 23 years.
