Erdoğan's UN message: We are striving to become a permanent member
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that the 5 permanent members of the United Nations Security Council are in a position to govern the world. Expressing that all decisions made are at the mercy of these 5 countries, Erdoğan said, "The 15 temporary members have no influence here whatsoever."
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan answered journalists' questions after Friday prayers.
Erdoğan made significant assessments regarding the structure of the UN and relations with Greece and Armenia.
Stating that the 15 temporary members at the United Nations (UN) have no influence, Erdoğan said, "We are striving to become a permanent member."
Erdoğan used the following expressions:
"WE ARE STRIVING TO BECOME A PERMANENT MEMBER"
"The 15 temporary members have no influence; 5 member countries are in charge. These 5 permanent members are in the position of countries that govern the world. As Turkey, we are currently striving to become a permanent member, but we have not received an answer yet. It is out of the question for the 15 official members to do anything about this matter in any way.
RELATIONS WITH GREECE
We will hold the high-level council meeting at the beginning of next year. As a result of the talks held, we may come together at the beginning of next year.
MEETING WITH PASHINYAN
The issues experienced between Azerbaijan and Armenia were prominent in the meeting with Pashinyan, and I took a positive approach in these talks. I know that Azerbaijan is of the same understanding. I hope these two countries will solve this problem by demonstrating the same approach."
