Erhan Afyoncu's 'Palestine' jab at Celal Şengör: 'We will not listen to history from a geologist'

Geologist Prof. Dr. Celal Şengör participated in Oğuzhan Uğur’s program and made statements there.

Claiming that Palestinians sold their land, Şengör said on the program, "It was sold to a large extent. Those who say it wasn't are complete ignoramuses." Şengör’s remarks were also supported by İlber Ortaylı. Ortaylı also used the expression, "In the past, saying 'Palestinian' meant a person who lived by selling land."

HE REACTED

Historian Erhan Afyoncu, when asked about Celal Şengör’s remarks, replied by saying, "We will not listen to history from a geologist." Afyoncu had previously told Celal Şengör, "Do I conduct geological studies? History is written by historians. Do your own job."
