Escalator at Mecidiyeköy Metrobus station suddenly reversed direction: 3 injured
In Mecidiyeköy, citizens were thrown downward after the escalator at the Metrobus station suddenly stopped. 3 people were injured in the incident. The injured were taken to the hospital by ambulance, and an investigation into the incident has been launched.
The incident occurred at approximately 16:30 at the Şişli Mecidiyeköy Metrobus station.
According to the information obtained, while citizens were trying to reach the station using the escalators, the device suddenly stopped for an unknown reason. As a result of the escalator suddenly stopping, the citizens on it lost their balance and were thrown downward.
3 people were injured in the incident, which caused immediate chaos. Upon the notification of citizens who experienced panic, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The medical teams, who arrived at the scene in a short time, took the injured to the hospital by ambulance after the initial intervention.
It was learned that the injured do not have life-threatening injuries. While police teams have launched an investigation into the incident, the malfunctioning escalator was taken out of service by the authorities.
On the other hand, congestion occurred at the Mecidiyeköy Metrobus station following the incident.
