Ahmet Özer, whose name was mentioned in the investigation into a criminal organization allegedly led by Aziz İhsan Aktaş—which is accused of manipulating tender processes by bribing mayors and led to the arrest of Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat—gave his statement to the prosecutor today via the Audio and Video Information System (SEGBİS) from the prison where he is being held.
ARREST REQUESTED
Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer, who was previously arrested and removed from office as part of a terrorism investigation with a trustee appointed in his place, had been faced with accusations of "rigging tenders," "taking bribes," and "unjust enrichment."
Özer, whose statement was taken via SEGBİS this evening, was referred to the duty criminal judgeship of peace with a request for his arrest on the charge of "rigging a tender."
