Eskişehir masked attacker's statement revealed for the first time on 12punto: 'I was abused by my father'

Arda Küçükyetim entered a building in the Tepebaşı district of Eskişehir the day before yesterday with a backpack. The 18-year-old suspect, who took a helmet-shaped headgear out of his bag and put it on, wore a mask with a skeleton figure, and donned a tactical vest featuring Nazi symbols, stepped back out onto the street after taking his knife in his hand. He then proceeded toward the area where a mosque is located. Küçükyetim, who started a live broadcast on his mobile phone and also had an axe and pepper spray in the pockets of his tactical vest, began attacking people sitting in the tea garden across from the mosque and those walking by. While panic ensued in the area, 5 people randomly attacked by Arda Küçükyetim were injured, and other citizens began to flee in terror. A police officer who noticed the commotion while heading to his post intervened immediately and neutralized Arda Küçükyetim.

12punto has obtained the details of Arda Küçükyetim's police statement regarding the incident that shook Turkey. Stating that he lived with his grandmother and grandfather, Arda Küçükyetim said that he had been abused by his father.

HE PUT ON HIS HELMET AND ATTACKED

One of the eyewitnesses, Yakup Taşçı, said that he noticed a young man outside because of his attire while he was at home. Explaining that he watched him from the window, Taşçı said, "He took some things out of his bag and put them on. He left behind what he had brought with him. He put on his helmet, and then he walked away from here. I thought he was going to get on a motorcycle. I notified the police. Later, I learned that he had attacked elderly people."

Hasan Güler, the headman (muhtar) of Uluönder Neighborhood where the incident took place, stated that when he learned about the attack and went to the scene, the police had already neutralized the attacker, Arda Küçükyetim, and taken him to the police station. Stating that they tried to help the injured, Güler said: "He used to live in our neighborhood. They moved to Çamlıca Neighborhood 3 years ago. His family is a quiet couple who work in a factory. He is one of the family's 2 children. He was introverted. The person who carried out the incident has acquaintances here because he spent his childhood here."

HE PLANNED THE ATTACK

Arda Küçükyetim, who shared photos of his equipment before the attack, added the note: "I will take my shower and go out with my equipment; I will go to the place where I will carry out the attack by car or public transport and change my clothes. I am taking my axe and my vest and attacking everyone." It was seen that in his previous posts, Küçükyetim used the expressions, "I grew up in a middle-class neighborhood; towards the end of my middle school years, my hatred for people increased."

After his procedures at the police station were completed, Arda Küçükyetim was taken to the courthouse under heavy security measures, wearing a bulletproof vest, following health checks at Eskişehir Yunus Emre State Hospital. The suspect was arrested by the court he was brought before.

16-PAGE MANIFESTO

It was revealed that Arda Küçükyetim had previously published a 16-page manifesto on his social media account.

Some of the statements in the manifesto are as follows:

- Do not fall for the lies of the Jewish media. This is entirely a lone wolf attack.

- In my previous plan, I aimed to attack the TKP building.

- I was motivated by hatred of humans, misanthropy.

- I hope I can clean up enough bugs with these.

- I never had a good relationship with my family.

- Plant an IED at the immigrant registration center and blow it up.

It was also seen that the attacker used insults against certain ethnic groups and members of the LGBT community in his posts, and said, "Regardless of whether they are children or elderly, they must all be cleaned out."

It was revealed that Arda Küçükyetim used the term 'saint' for Brenton Tarrant, who caused the death of 51 people in a terrorist attack on a mosque in New Zealand in 2019, and for Anders Behring Breivik, who raided a youth camp in Norway in 2011 and killed 77 people.

ALL OF THE INJURED ARE MALE

Two knives and an axe were found on the attacker, Arda Küçükyetim, who was caught red-handed at the scene. It was observed that one of the knives had a swastika symbol, the symbol of the Nazis, on it. Medical teams transported the injured T.A. (71), C.Ö. (57), N.Ö. (87), M.K. (64), and C.A. (64) to the City Hospital. It was learned that 3 of the injured are in intensive care as a precaution, and the others are continuing their treatment in wards. Meanwhile, it was noted that all of the injured were male.
